Hi ((((((((fellow-sufferers))))))))! tear2.gif ............ smile.gif ............ wwww.gif

I am inviting you to find an aim for your days (can be very, very little) and to write about it here. An example: If you feel "high" (manic or hypomaninc) you might decide that you are going to calm down for two minutes this day.

If you are feeling depressed, an example of a little aim for the day can be to be able to do your shower/ pay your bills/eat properly or something else you want to manage .

If you live in a difficult life-situation, the aim can be to cope with the difficult situation for 10 minutes or to do something else.

You decide what is important for you (I only used some examples)!

I got this idea today because I feel stuck. tear2.gif I'm frightened that I shall chrash ........

MY thought is that if we can have a place to set small aims for the days and write about our (hopefully) successes with our aims, we, for a while, get focus away from all our pain and can instead look upon something we have succeeded to do. We can be proud of what we have be able to manage!!!

PLEASE COME AND JOIN ME ON THIS THREAD! LET US DO SOMETHING POSITIVE TOGETHER!

My aims for the day(these are the ones I have to manage if I don't want to suffer more than I already do):

1) Eat three meals.

2) Take a shower.

3) Go to the grocery.

4) Put on the washing machine.

5) Prepare for a lecture I have to do.

6) Do relaxation exercises.

7) Remember to pray for God's help.

WOW, it seems so much to do! But I feel more able to cope with the day, now that the aims are written down! At the moment, no tear2.gif !!! Wish me good luck! wub.gif I'll come back later to tell how I managed ........ coffeebreak.gif

OK, these are my aims for the rest of the day, what are yours (don't forget it can be very, very ,very small)?

You have set yourself, short and achievable goals for the day. That's what we all need to do on a daily basis, even if it's just getting up in the morning as most of us spend way too long staying in bed.

My goals for the day are to run some errands, pick up my scrips and go to the bank. I have a daily goal of taking care of my sis's dogs and I've been able to do that as it gets me out of the house.

THANKS (that you liked my idea - I have tears behind my smile, so I'm on edge)! smile.gif

Hope you reach your aims, Sheepwoman! I have reached six of the seven I sat up. (Feel exhausted). sleep_1.gif

My aims for tomorrow are:
1) Get up early
2) Prepare myself for the days work.
3) Work
4) Eat and relax

If anybody read this and feel for praying that everything goes OK tomorrow, I'll sure appreciate that! help.gif

Oh, I feel so strange, but I'm going to make it! I WILL NOT GIVE IN boxing.gif

I have not been working for a good long while and I need to get back into it. I set myself the task of writing a work email today and I wrote it! Great oaks from little acorns grow...

CONGRATULATION! biggrin.gif

I reached all my aims for yesterday, almost. I could perhaps have tried to relax more, but l was lazy and didn't turn my relaxation tape on.

Today my aims are to not forget the meals and to go to Church.

Hope I'm not the only one who need aims to work for. It was a bit lonely on this thread! sad.gif

Rosegirl...you're not alone so don't feel lonely flowers.gif . Having a tough time these days myself, am up, down, and all around it seems. Not sure where I'm at at any given time. My goal for today is to try and feel "stabilized" but having a tough time getting myself there sadwalk.gif

Thanks, ((((CindyAnn))))!!

I feel comforted! hugs.gif But I feel sorry for you! I don't know what to say about this period were you are trying Citalopram. I hope they help, but if not, I hope there is something else they can give you.

Have you tried fish-soup? Fish-soup has a calming effect because of an ingredient in the fish that naturally calms down. If you buy a fish and cook the bones and the head for 20 minutes, you have wonderful fish-bouillon to make a soup of. Take the head and bones away, and fill the fish-bouillon with vegetables you like and let it cook for about ten minutes. If you want some fish in it, you can cook the fish that are left (after you took the bones away) together with the vegetables. Some milk in the soup may make the taste better. Use some salt and whatever spice you like and sit down and eat/drink the soup two or three times a day. If you don't have a relaxation tape yet, may be you should buy one..... Coopbeach.gif

I still hope that others will join the thread with small aims! Something little to work for .....

About me: I don't want to do anything. I feel depressed and think everything is so hopeless! I reached my aims Monday. For Tuesday I have forced myself to set up these aims: Three meals and some work!

I finally put my hay away yesterday (yay).

Today, I ntend to give my dog a bath since the weather has turned nice, do a load of laundry and strip and then make up my bed. It will take a bit of motivation for myself to accomplish these tasks.

I know that feeling. I am so glad that this thread has evolved! I will not give up the fight! I will not let this disease get me, beat me, or rule my life! I will:
1) Get up earlier to feed my horses in the morning. They are depending on ME!
2) Stay motivated and driven at work.
3) Try to stay happy and appreciate the wonderful things I have in my life icon12.gif . Even when I hate everything. sneaky2.gif

I'm so sorry you are down today. Especially since your post lifted my spirits, and I wish I could do the same for you. Btw, yes, I have had fish soup and do love it nod.gif . Have not had any for some time but thx for reminding me about it. I will have to make some now smile.gif

I didn't have time to post here this morning but I did achieve my aim/s of the day:
1. Went to Costco and picked up food supplies for our week-long "feed the homeless" program at Church (a shame we don't feed them all year long).
2. Stopped by grocery store and did food shopping for home.
3. Went by the Church to drop food supplies off.
4. Made my son a super nutritious salad he's been asking for.......he was thrilled when he got home from school and saw it waiting for him :CatnHat: .

That was a lot for me but I got it all done and feel pretty good right now Coopyahoo.gif

I am having a cup of green tea at the moment, would anyone like to join me ?
